Why Is My MBO Revenue Being Categorized as an Expense?
Before FlexBooks creates a transaction and sends your revenue to a QBO Income Account – it first looks into your Chart of Accounts to see if an Account matching your MBO Revenue Category already exists. If it does exist, it will use that Account. If it doesn't exist, it will create the Income Account and use it.
Unfortunately, if you've previously created a QBO Expense Account with the exact same name as your MBO Revenue Account – FlexBooks will use that Account (regardless of the fact that it's an Expense Account, not an Income Account).
It's actually quite easy. All you have to do is edit the name of your Expense Account so that it's slightly different than the name of your MBO Revenue Account.
For example, you could change "Crossfit" to "Crossfit Expenses". The next time FlexBooks syncs MBO "Crossfit" Revenue, it'll skip your "Crossfit Expenses" account, create a "Crossfit" Income Account, and use that instead.
